Hi,

no its a normal file service, so the filesystem is not important.

can you write and read files on the device with your backup server ?
Run this tool
http://seer.entsupport.symantec.com/docs/321584.htm

But i would not spend much time int because its much to slow ... to make really sense.
for 1TB you will probably need more that 18 hours ...

dear Martin,

i can create backup-to-disk folder on it using backup-to-disk wizard, but when i'm trying to to do backup-to-disk or do duplicates backup from tape to disk it always failed. and yes i can write to the device with backup server (see pic below):

hi,

first of all i would suggest that you set the maximal file size to something smaller than 2 GB. Sharespace probably has a problem with files larger than 2 GB.

HI

do you backup a Exchange or SQL Server ?

If yes your IMG Backup probably contains files larger 2 GB which seems not to be supported by sharespace.

IMG Backups are Application Backups performed through VSS.

Does Sharespace support ISCSI ? if yes switch to it. If no, bad luck.
