how can i connect my older backup exec client to new backup exec server

Hi All,

 

my older backup Exec  server got crashed now i am creating a new backup server,i dont have backup of Database, now how can i

connect my clients to connect to new server,is i need to do push installation again or is there any other way so that my client can speak to new server

Just add the server as you did on first install.

BE will discover the installed agent and will add the Server without an install if there is no newer update on the BE-Server.

hi

 

which update you are talking about,are you talking about Symantec update 

i have created a new server and run  luupdate utility to update all the patches,will it create a problem

Yes I'm talking about Symantec Updates.

Not if you select on the add dialog not to Update the agent.

But you should test it with a Server you are able to reboot.

 

Another way is to go to the Server and ad the new Backup Server over the Backup Exec Remote Agent Utility (Startmenue) in the list of Backup Servers. The agent appears in die BE-Console after a Service Restart of the Remote Agent normaly, or just wait 5 Minutes.
