job mounts but does not run

BackupExec 9.1 on Win2003 server with Exchange server 2003. New install went ok. Setup job to include EX and test ran ok. Tape drive still works, tapes are new and overwritable. Job indicates mounting, but status doesn't change to running. Can cancel job and do a Run Now, and the job runs. Have set the job to run as service and as other than administrator login, but still get the same "mounting", but no running. Any idea of what I've not set?

Hi,

This issue could occur if there are any active alerts pending in the alerts tab. If you find any, respond to these alerts. This should take care of the issue.

Ok, But this seems a bug for if one doesn't check the system daily for alerts which may cause processes to fail, what does one do when over a long weekend when processes are expected to run and no one is there to check the Alert Log?
