loses connection to media server during backup of Exchange 2007

I'm experiencing problem when backing up my Exchange 2007 server. I'm running backup exec 12.5 on a Windows 2008 server and backs up the Exchange 2007 through an agent. The backups are saved on a Netgear ReadyNAS 1100. Backups of the other servers runs just fine with no errors. But whenever I run a full backup on the Exchange 2007 server, the job will end intermittent due to a loss of connection to the media server (which is the server running the backup exec).

I have tried: 

Un-install/Reinstall of the agent/advance open file
Delete/ recreate the backup job
Updated all hot fixes and Windows patches
Updated NAS to latest firmware and driver

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Have you reinstall the agent on the exchange server after you install all the patch in backup exec?
Each time you upgrade your backup exec you need to reinstall the agent.

Yes. I resintalled the agent after the backup exec update.
