mms after caso failed

I am testing a scenario where i have a caso server in the main site and an mms server in the dr site.

the problem I am facing is that in case of a dissaster I am unable to use the mms server.

I have tried turning it to standalone server using theses 2 ways:

https://www.veritas.com/support/en_US/article.TECH202149

https://vox.veritas.com/t5/Backup-Exec/CASO-MMS-When-CASO-is-offline/m-p/683818#M322023

but it didnt work.

The second option should work. I used that plenty of times. If it doesn't, I'd recommend removing the MMS from the CASO and then re-adding it. Thanks!

Yes, I was finally was able to do it.

But does backup exec has another solution to the DR scenario?

Which is not envolving such workarounds.

I want to be able to replicate data to a backup server in the DR and restore from that server in case that the main site fails.

Maybe make the DR server the CASO server?

Then your main site will depend on the DR and the network availiblity to the DR.

That is not a good option

Yes...otherwise, if you can move to cloud, create a new VM on a cloud platform of your choice, say AWS and load the CASO license there. As long as both PRD and DR sites have a link to the CASO, if the PRD side goes down, then the MMS in the DR will be able to restore.

And if you loose networking or there is a problem with the internet? then your main BE will not work.

This is not a good setup.
