 Go to TOOLS>OPTIONS.
Go to the General tab
About halfway down there's an option for Alerts.
Unchecking 'Display new alerts' should be what you are looking for.

 Hi Keith,
I believe you have to turn off the display of Alerts. That will stop ALL alerts from displaying. There's two ways Alerts display:
1. Popup - which is what you need to get rid of
2. Alert tab - this you can keep.

When you get a pop up, there's a check box to turn it off.

What version do you have?

Hi there,

What sort of overwrite protection do you have?
Under Tools --> Options --> Media Management, Partial and None allow you to turn off prompts before overwriting imported/allocated media. I've turned these off on whichever protection level I have on my servers and don't get those prompts.
Turning off the display of alerts suggests you're going to be checking any issues manually by going into the Alerts tab all the time, or that you have set up email notification of important alerts.

You can suppress the Alert as mentioned above, but you can avoid it altogether by setting the OPP of the media set so that when you to overwrite, the tape volume has expired.

if you overwrite a tape on the same day each week, set the OPP to 6 days

Or , if you do not have a standard rotation, you can insert a tape, inventory, then drag that volume to the Scratch Media Set
