problem after a power surge on verson 8.5

Hey guys,

I tried searching for this, and wasnt able to find anything to help me. On the windows 2000 machine where backup exec is installed version 8,5 a problem occurs every power surge.

The problem is that we arent able to connect, as it says
"Application server not ready" everytime. we need to re-install and redo all the backup and restore scedules. Is there a way to avoid this problem or be able to connect?

Hello,

Since when do you get this problem? You can try upgrading to Backup exec 9.1 and check if the issue persists. Here are the links for the upgrade:

- Update all agents/options on all remote systems.

Is the upgrade from 8.6 to 9.1 a free upgrade?

and veritas no longer sells it, but you can generally find a few copies at EBay or on ISellSurplus.com
