Hello
I have a px12-400r LenovoEMC with firmware version 4.0.2.9960.
I use Backup Exec 2012 and when I enable a shared resource in the "Allow users to change the file-level security" Backup Exec can not access resources to capture the backup.
Is there any posibildad to solve this problem?
A greeting and thank you very much

You can test the drive with the B2DTest below
If the test fails, this means that your configuration is not supported.

Hi,
The problem is where? Trying to backup to the NAS, or from it? Your statement above isn't quite clear.
If it's backing up TO the NAS, that NAS is capable of iSCSI. Invoke it, carve out your LUNs and present to your media server. Create your B2Ds and then backup that way. I've done it on these NAS's and they work very well.
If it is a case of backing up FROM the NAS, have you tried to integrate that NAS into Active Directory? This should get around any possible authentication issues you might be experiencing.
Thanks!

...have you tried to add in the BESA to that NAS as an admin? Can you share a screenshot of the NAS too please?

Hello
Thanks for the reply. Yes, Symantec Backup Exec user is administrator shares and NAS.
The NAS is an appliance (LINUX) managed via web and the options are limited.
It is curious that to select items to copy me to list the contents of the shared resources, but to validate the security or to execute the copy fails

...well versed in the Iomega StorCenter NAS's (we actually moved away from them and now scope HP P2000i's in their place!).
So, the backup doesn't run at all?

This is the result when i test the credentials.

Don't test the credentials.
Try this: Add your domain admin account into BE, and use this as the account to access the NAS.
Thanks!
