Urgent problem here

We have 1 Server Running Sharepoint Portal 2003 and is also our Veritas Server-

We are using Veritas Backup Exec Version 10 with the Open File, Remote Agent, SQL Agent and the Sharepoint 2003 Agent, also we downloaded the Service Pack 1 For Veritas and installed it, this server have had the open file and the remoter server Agent pushed out to them, that have been rebooted and the Service check to confirm it has started under the services.

When we run the backup we get an error message and the Job Fails with the Below information

V-79-57344-33928 Access Denied

Access Denied to File \http://portal/index DB 1 (portal)

Can you help us solve this problem

I also have the exact same issue. Am i correct in guessing that the index db needs to be excluded from within the server farm for each portal setup?

We are experiencing the same problem, with a backing up database "Index DB 1". This database is not in SQL server and we cannot locate the actual file/db.

The error -
Completed status: Failed
Final error: 0xe0008488 - Access is denied.
Final error category: Security Errors

For additional information regarding this error refer to link V-79-57344-33928.

The account used for backups has full admin rights on the box.

Can anyone advise if this is file/db can be excluded without causing any restore errors or how to work around the backup failing.
Thanks

Hello Timm,
- checked with the licenses, you should have the SPP server and the remote agent is running under the LSA
-Make the domain admin account the default account
- The account should be a part of the local admin group
- The account sould have the co-ordinator role on the workspace on each of the folders.
-You may refer the admin guide page 1433.
