Hi Everyone!

Recently we changed the backup device (the same model which works recently) and there are problems with restoring data.

Can someone help me please?

I keep getting this message when i try to do a restore on Veritas 9.1 Build 4691:

0x452 - When accessing a new tape of a multivolume partition, the current block size is incorrect.

The backups completed fine on the tape that is now giving this error message. I can't wipe the tape because of important backups created!

The backup was done on a Windows 2003 server.

Can anyone help??

Thanks!

additional info:
this happens when we try to restore from tapes created by old backup device but if we use new tapes all (backup and restore) operations works correctly

Can you reconnect the old backup device and restore the old data from it? The old device may have misaligned r/w heads and its tapes are only readable by it.

Hello,

Have you run an inventory operation and cataloged the tapes before performing a restore operation.

If not please try this and verify results.

Thanks
