redirecting sharepoint

is it possible to restore a sharepoint site to a diferent sharpoint site?

for example:

I want to move http://Moss/sharepoint1/site1

to http://Moss/sharepoint1/site1/site1_restore

or do I have to restore to a file location and move the data to the restore site?
