remote backup slow 1mb per min - firewall ports?

Hi

Trying to diagnose a pianfully slow data throughput between our back server (12.5) and a remote server using an agent. Currently I am getting 1MB/Min!!

Due to security reasons only the bare minimum ports have been opened between these networks, TCP 10000 and 3 ports in the dynamic range 49152 - 49155 (from backup server to remote server (source/destination))

Everything appears to be functioning fine, the remote agent communication to the server to select backup items, the backup itself runs just very slow.

Do i need to have more ports in the dynamic range opened ? or perhaps something else has been missed ?

thanks for any info

Can you test with the firewall disabled to verify throughput, and the firewall possibly causing the issue?

Please hard set the NIC settings as 100mbps of the remote server and try and also find one more thing ..
the tape drive your using if it is compatibile with BE 12.5 or not.

 Hi,

Have u tried to just copy some files from one server to the other to check the copy speed? If the speed is slow also, something is going on with your network settings (NIC settings, VLANs, Switches)
If the speed is much more faster than the backup, try to disable the firewall first.
If the speed is the same, try to exclude the AOFO folder from the server or check if an AV scan or something else is going on at this time on the network.

Is there anything else running on this server during the backup time (some db backup, AV scan, Updates or anything something like that?)

Hope that helps.
