remote linux agent issues

Hi all!

Actually, this is 2 questions in one.

First off, is it really true that the remote agent for BE10 does not support Fedora Core 2? I tried installing it on my Fedora box, but replies that the OS is not supported... Huh?

Next, I installed a "beagent" - assume its for a previous version of BE. Now my box is visible in my media server, but I cant browse it. The two servers are located on two different LANs, and I can see in my firewall that the media server tries to connect to its gateway on TCP port 8192.

I assume this is because the media server doesn't know the IP of the Fedora box - but im not sure - any ideas?

Thanks in advance!

Hi,

We apologise for the inconvenience caused because of the delayed response. Please let us know if your issue still persists. If yes, please refer the steps mentioned below. If not, we will mark this case as ‘assumed answered’ and move it to ‘answered questions’ pool.

Please refer to the Software compatibility list of Backup Exec for Windows Servers 10.0 (SCL) from the following link.

You can try adding the linux server's Name and Ip Address on the 'hosts' file under C:\Windows\System32\drivers\etc. You have mentioned that beagent has been installed. Please verify whether you have installed the agent software on the remote linux server. Apart from installing the Remote Agent License on the Backup Server, the remote agent software has to be installed on the remote server. You can refer to the following document to have more information about the remote agent for linux and unix servers.
