restore to different share

Hi guys,
 
We are having a real problem restoring one of our data shares for Exchange with 11d.  Within that share are several important accounts.  Is it possible to restore just those accounts to another Exchange server or share.  I have gotten the sense from my exchange guy that we are stuck with restoring to the share we are having trouble with. Any help?

Well It all depends on how you backed up exchange in 11d. Did you enabled GRT in the backup. If that is the case you can look at your restore selection and expand infomration store - mailboxes and redirect a mailbox to different mailbox or back to same location. If you didnt do a GRT backup then if your running 2003 you can restore the Information Store back to Exchange 2003 RSG group then use exmerge to get the mailbox out.

What do you mean by share. What are you trying to restore emails?

Sorry, I meant mail store.  Yes, we are talking about mailboxes

Are you trying to redirect the restore to an Exchange RSG, or just restore emails that were deleted?

1. If you're trying to restore to an RSG, here are 2 links you can go through which explain how it should be done:

2. If you're just trying to restore Exchange emails etc, I'd suggest staging to disk first, as this takes a lot of the schlep work out of restoring. The first couple of steps redirect the Exchange temporary store of the IS to another location (by default set to C:\Temp)...
