Hello everybody,
I try to install Backup Exec 2010 R2 on a x64 Win Srv 2008 R2.
After starting the setup.exe from
Backup_Exec_2010_13.0.4164_MultiPlatforms_Multilingual_DVD\BE\WinNT\Install\BEx64
the installation window pops up and is closed immediately.
Nothing further happens.
The log says:
01-11-2011,11:44:09 : Windows Operating System Version: 6.1
01-11-2011,11:44:09 : GetProductInfo returned success. Checking for CORE OS values.

01-11-2011,11:44:11 : ERROR: Installation failed with error 3. GetLastError = :216
Can you help???
Thanks in advance
Michael

download the install files again and try running the setup from the new download files

Hi,
What happens when you insert cd/dvd into drive?
Run Browser.exe instead setup.exe

Hi,
Starting Browser.exe gets me the error "139 loading DVD Browser plugin"
I found a Symantec tech note that said, If you get this error try running the setup.exe from the install directory.
Both problems are the same when trying with or without dvd.

Michael

copy dvd to the disk, and try to install.
Are you sure your media is ok?
Can you try with another media?

Hello Michael
After the download of the files verify their size. Verify the size with the help of the same download page at FileConnect.Symantec.com or BackupExec.com.
If the size of any one of the files is incorrect, It will need to be downloaded again

Hello everybody,
the file I downloaded were corrupt. In the last attempt I used the symantec download manager and with this I got the correct files.
With the correct files the installation ran without error.
Thanks to everybody for the assistance
Regards
Michael
