throughput on exchange backup

After upgrade of BE from 10d to 11d (build 7170 sp1 with hf 21 and 22) the throughput on exchange backup is down by 50%.  When grt is disable throughput is back to normal. This is mailstore backup only.
Any ideas anyone ?
