unable to create selection list

I've seen another post regarding this problem and the proposed solution was to upgrade to 10d. Well, I'm presently using Backup Exec for Windows Servers 10d and when I try to restore a file, as soon as I try to run the job I get an error stating "unable to create selection list." I also read the article about getting this error when trying to backup files with certain extensions and followed the instructions presented there to no avail. What's wrong?
