unable to establish trust between servers using Backup exec 2014

Hi,

I am using Backup Exec 2014 on  Windows server 2008 R2 Standard.

I am getting this error when establishing trust between servers:

Failed to log on to Microsoft Windows.

Ensure that your logon credentials are correctly entered nd that they meet the following minimum requirements to log on to a Windows computer:

- The credentials used are a member of the Backup Operators group.

- For Windows Vista/2008 and later, the credentials have the log on as a batch job privilege.

Additional privileges may be required to access resources on the Windows computer.

Hi,

Make sure that the BE service account has rights as laid out in the TN below:

http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH36718

Also make sure that port 10000 is open on any firewall on the servers.

Thanks!

Just for Infomration "Backup Operstors" has limited permissions and is really only designed to backup files on the file system, it does not give enough permissions to backup everything that might be on a server and almost certainly would not give enough to fully setup a trust.

As such I'd suggest start with a full domain admin account and if this works then look at what reduced security might be possible. Note if you are backing up the System State of a DC then the ongoing account will have to remain as a Domain Admin as this is definitely one of the limitations against just the Backup Operators Group.
