Problem:--
How to upgrade to Symantec Backup Exec 2014 without purchasing new license for backup exec 2014?

Cool, so what about the compatibility issue for the Tapes ?
would there be any issue or compatibility to be aware of before upgrading it to 2014 ?

What compatibility issue you are refering to?

Regarding tape hardware compatibility, have a look @ the HCL for BE 2014 to confirm if the hardware is supported or not.
And regarding the ability to restore from prev backed up tapes, BE 2014 can restore from such tapes provided the data/agent/option isn't end-of-life in BE 2014.

...I guess the OP would be referring to the compatibility of the device with BE 2014...?
And in terms of compatibility issues, would it work? Any known issues between the type of device he has and BE 2014 etc...

Edit: Nevermind this is not the OP
