using Backup Exec 2014 to migrate mailbox from Exchange 2003 to Exchange 2013

Hi Team,

Can I use backup exec, any version but prefereably 2014 to backup Exchange Mailbox Database or individual mailboxes and restore to Exchange Server 2013.

Afaik, I don't think you can restore to a different version directly. In fact, even MS does not offer a direct migration of Exchange 2003 mailboxes to Exchange 2013.

Normally you cannot restore an old version of Exchange directly to a newer version.

What you can try, is to restore to PST (see below), and open the file with outlook to import to a mailbox manually.

backupexec is not intended as a migration tool.

microsoft doesn't support either a migration from exchange 2003 to 2013 in one step. multiple steps are needed to migrate between 2003 and 2013.
