vixmntapix files filling up hard drive

Hello,

We are running Backup Exec 2014 SP2 with hotfix 227745 on Windows Server 2012 R2 Standard.

I am having the same issue as described in https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/forums/vixmntapix-files-filling-cprogram-filessymantecbackup-execdatavmwaretemp except that we are already at SP2 and running the hotfix recommended to fix this issue. LiveUpdate reports that there are no more updates to install. Our installation is on E:\Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec

The Backup Exec service account is part of the domain admins group but doesn't have explicit access to the E:/. But it's never had full access before and this appers to be a recent issue.

Should I grant this service account full access to the E:/?

There are 12571 of these vixmntapixxxx files in the directory.

Please see screenshot. Any advice would be much appreciated.

Thank you

Yes, grant full access to the E:\ and also if running any AV, set it to exclude from scanning the BE processes.
