Symantec’s NetBackup Platform Certified by SAP for Integration with SAP HANA;Provides Big Data Backup and Recovery Functionality

MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif. – January 17, 2013– Symantec Corp. today announced its Symantec NetBackup solution has been certified by SAP to provide big data backup and recovery integration with the SAP HANA® platform.

The SAP Integration and Certification Center (SAP ICC) has certified that Symantec NetBackup integrates with SAP HANA as a third-party backup solution, allowing customers to directly connect their backup agents to the SAP HANA database. By automating the backup process, organizations can reduce the chances of human error, making it easier to enjoy the benefits of SAP HANA, deriving actionable information in near real time without worrying about potential data loss. Through Symantec NetBackup’s integration with SAP HANA, Symantec is providing customers a tested and certified backup and recovery solution for the SAP HANA platform.
