Symantec today released its newest version of centralized storage management software, Veritas Operations Manager 4.1, and the premium version, Veritas Operations Manager Advanced 4.0 RU1. These releases are part of the major refresh of Symantec’s storage and availability management portfolio.

- Download the add-ons through Veritas Operations Manager console
- Support for Symantec Performance Value Unit (SPVU)
- Report showing product to SPVU mapping per platform/edition and version
- Report showing SPVUs per server across physical and virtual environments
- Ability to automatically upload price tier data and recalculate server tier/cpu tier/SPVU
- Create policies to track license deployments and generate alerts when deployments exceed minimum and maximum level thresholds
- Support Business Entity life cycle management through the command line

- Filter based on thin LUNs, cluster awareness, and VMDK snapshotting (aka sparse disks)
- Create custom chargeback reports
- Backup utility for the Enterprise Server
- Backup the database, report definitions, and important configuration files
- Restore easily using documented steps
- Log gathering utility for the Enterprise Server
- ‘Gather’ utility for collecting logs and roll-up data (csv files)
- Creates a zip file that can be provided to support
