What does it mean to be “light weight”?

You've probably heard that CloudPoint is "light weight" -- and it is. But what does that mean exactly? And more importantly, how can that benefit you and your environment?

A lot of people think "light weight" means that a product doesn't take up much storage. That's true: the current version of CloudPoint takes less than 1 GB of space.

But CloudPoint is also light because:

  • It uses minimal CPU resources, so your processing power goes into getting work done.
  • It creates minimal network chatter, so communication is used efficiently.
  • It transfers the least data possible, so your bandwidth is preserved.

So "light weight" really means that CloudPoint respects all the resources you're paying for and uses them as efficiently as possible.

Sometimes being small has big benefits.
