Dear Gents,

I would like to know how to install patch and hotfix for SFHA 5.1 SP1 on RHEL 6.x servers. I have followed the steps provided from the REDME file but found following error. RP4  is succesfully installed.

[root@esxi02 rhel6_x86_64]# ./installrp -require /tmp/CPI-5.1SP1RP4_P1.pl -nostart

CPI ERROR V-9-20-1075 require file: /tmp/CPI-5.1SP1RP4_P1.pl not found

[root@esxi02 tmp]# ll CPI_5.1SP1RP4P1.pl
-rwxr-xr-x. 1 root root 3440 Jan 16 14:58 CPI_5.1SP1RP4P1.pl

i had installed the SFHA and its rolling patch 4

Rolling patch 4 (RP4) of 5.1SP1 includes all previous Rolling patches and hotfixes associated with previous RP's.

So, 5.1SP1RP4 includes RP2 patch 5. (5.1SP1RP2P5).

The filename specified with installrp has a hyphen (-) after CPI, but the file in /tmp has an underscore. Can you please retry the command using:

./installrp -require /tmp/CPI_5.1SP1RP4_P1.pl -nostart

Let us know if you still have issues.

try:

 ./installrp -require /tmp/CPI_5.1SP1RP4P1.pl -nostart

Hi,

thank you all! now u the installation started correctly.

One more doupt is that the installrp script was extracted from sfha-rhel6_x86_64-5.1SP1PR2RP4 tar file and i started the installtion of hotfix patch using the command ./installrp -require /tmp/CPI_5.1SP1RP4P1.pl -nostart.

now i have to install remaning patchs/hotfixes..do i need to install in the same way ? Please advise.

thanks.

In your original post you mentioned RP4 is successfully installed. What exactly are the 'remaning patchs/hotfixes'?  Please check that the patch IDs mentioned on https://sort.symantec.com/patch/detail/7890

are installed already..

Rolling patch 4 (RP4) of 5.1SP1 includes all previous Rolling patches and hotfixes associated with previous RP's.

So, 5.1SP1RP4 includes RP2 patch 5. (5.1SP1RP2P5).

Hi,

Thank you guys. So I understand that the rp4 contains the previous imp hot fixes and patches so no need to install them again.

but if this is the case then why Symantec download for Sarah 5.1sp1 still shows the other patches and hot fixes as prerequisite, they should have shown only rp4  correct ?
