@Adireddy

I have moved your reply in https://vox.veritas.com/t5/Storage-Foundation/how-to-probe-resources/td-p/609488
to a new discussion in the Cluster forum, as that 2013 post was answered/solved.

@Adireddy, what makes you believe that NIC resources are not probed?

VCS will monitor/probe each resource every 60 seconds by default.

NIC is a Persistent type of resource that cannot be onlined or offlined. It can only be monitored.

More info here regarding resource types:  https://sort.veritas.com/public/documents/vie/7.1/aix/productguides/html/vcs_admin/ch01s04s02.htm

Do you mean the status is Unknown or what?

Was VCS upgraded recently?  If VCVSD was upgraded recently, check types.cf in /etc/VRTSvcs/conf/config and comapre it with the one located in /etc/VRTSvcs/conf.  If they are not the same, just back up the one in config then copy the one in conf to the default location (/etc/VRTSvcs/conf/config) then stop (hastop -all -force)  and restart vcs  You need to do this on all nodes.  If this does nto resolve the issue, run the commands below and post the output.

1. uname -a

2. hasys -display | mgrep -i vers

3. hastatus -sum

4. hares -display <NIC resource name>

Kind regards,
