Netbackup vcs agent will not startup - SFW HA 6.0 windows

Have installed SFW HA 6.0 for windows on 2 x 2008 R2 servers.

Installed NB 7.1 on both servers - as clustered master(s).

The nics, IPs, diskgroups, mountv - all start fine on both nodes. NB will start manually - with cluster frozen - no problem.

But Netbackupvcs agent won't start so netbackup_server-nbu won't start.

when trying to start the resource get - VCS error V-16-1-10268 - agent netbackupvcs for resource ...failed

when trying to start netbackupvcs agent manually - via haagent -start netbackupvcs -sys node1 - the netbackupvcs_a.txt log shows "2012/04/02 14:27:28 VCS ERROR V-16-2-13609 Agent(NetBackupVCS) exiting because it could not find a valid agent directory"

Yet - main.cf has :

include "types.cf"

include "C:\Program Files\Veritas\Cluster Server\conf\config\NetBackupVCSTypes.cf"

and NetBackupVCSTypes.cf - does reside there:

The folder C:\Program Files\Veritas\Cluster Server\conf\config contains the resource type declaration files, not the agents themselves. I don't recall off the top of my head what the path is for agents on Windows, but on Unix/Linux it's /opt/VRTSvcs/bin. Check to see if you can find a folder named NetBackupVCS somewhere under C:\Program Files\Veritas\Cluster Server\. That sub-folder should contain the actual agent executables. If it's not present, it's possible that the agent didn't get installed correctly.

thanks - looks like there is a bug maybe - as it created a NetBackup directory under C:\program files\veritas\cluster server\bin\ - but no .xml or .dll files -

So I manually created a NetBackupVCS directory under C:\Program Files\Veritas\cluster server\bin and copied the .xml and .dll files from C:\Program Files\Veritas\Netbackup\bin\cluster\vcs and C:\Program Files\Veritas\Netbackup\bin.

Was then able to start the haagent and it looks better for now.

thanks for your help in pointing me in the right direction to help troubleshoot this further.
