Hello,
We have downloaded the Demo version and configured the VCS, now we bought the licence. It is running on Windows 2008 R2. How can I update the licence? Do I need to shutdown the service? Or can I do it on the fly?
Solved! Go to Solution.

Managing SFW or SFW HA licenses is described in Symantec Storage Foundation™ and High Availability Solutions Installation and Upgrade Guide.
extract:
To manage licenses
1 Open the Windows Control Panel and click Programs and Features.
2 Select the option for Veritas Storage Foundation.
For example, for SFW HA select Veritas Storage Foundation HA 6.1 for
Windows and the click Change.
3 On the Mode Selection panel, select Add or Remove and then click Next.

Hi Mokkan,
VCS will not read the new license key until the HAD service is restarted. The cluster will still work as expected until you can get a maintenance window to restart the cluster services with a valid key.
You can also use vxlicinst.exe from a command prompt to add the keys via cli.
Thank you,
Wally
