VCS service group in partial state

 Hi Team,

I do not have the output of the files right now, but just want to know the logic behind it..

In a 2 node cluster, one of the SG went on partial state.but when checked with Oracle Database team there DB is working fine on 2nd node.

They have oracle RAC database configured in it.

I got confused that how SG went online to 2nd node if it is showing partial state in primary node.

Please guide.

Partially online means that one or more resources are offline.

Check output of 'hastatus -sum' on one of the nodes.

Well, if it's a RAC system then it is Parallel that means that the SG may be running on several nodes in parallel. It may, as well, be offline or partially offline on one of the nodes but serving clients from a different node of the cluster.

I am surprised with the output as it is two node cluster and one primary node Service group is PARTIAL and in second group service group is OFFLINE.

and Resource is not probed state.

What do I need to check do the Database configured outside of vcs?

How VCS is serving the database when in one node it is partial and in 2nd node service group is offline.

Please help to understand it.

Hey mate, post your main.cf and output for 'hastatus -sum' and let us know which service group to look at.
