Hi everyone!
I have a question related to the maintenance agreement renewals for Veritas / Symantec Cluster Server. Originally our cluster server ran on a IBM P5 w/ AIX and we had Tier C renewal. Now we have moved to IBM P7 w/ AIX and the vendor has informed us that we need to move to a Tier G renewal, which is five times the price of the Tier C.
I just to confirm and want some information on what Tier C and G are. Are they related to IBM or Symantec? Should I expect this type of MA price increase?
Thanks in advance.
Regards,
Halcyon.

Symantec now has two licencing models - per Core (SPVU) and per Server Tier model.
You can have a look for yourself over here:

Ask your vendor for a SPVU quote as well as per Server Tier. Ensure that you both agree on the SPVU value.

Symantec has list of servers and its tier for pricing of Storage Foundation products.
When you move to new machine of upper tier, you need new renewal for this server(and, I believe, need to purchase new license of new tier).
