What are the benefits of using Weblogic Node Manager to work with VCS agent 4.1?

Hi,
 
I am seeking for reasons to configure Weblogic (9.2) Node Manager to work with VCS Weblogic agent 4.1 for HA. I know I can define 'admin server' or 'managed server' to achieve the HA but the installation guide says 'Symantec recommends configuring Node Manager while working with HA products'. What are the benefits?
