Hi John,

You don't need to install any new component or software to get GCO to work.

Ideally you should have VVR replication  setup between two sites & you should have VVR & GCO license for operation. You can go keyless (demo license for 60 days) but you would finally need license for all this to work together.

Below section would help you

Thanks Gaurav,

just want to confirm that if during my initial installation i didn't click the yes to include the GCO function, in that case i still can use the geo cluster function or?

Hi John,

You should be able to still use to GCO function. If you look at manual installation procedure in below mentioned link, there is no separate package that gets installed for GCO purpose

https://sort.symantec.com/public/documents/sfha/6.1/solaris/productguides/html/vcs_install/ch16s02s02.htm

https://sort.symantec.com/public/documents/sfha/6.1/solaris/productguides/html/vcs_install/apbs01.htm

I am not too sure but I would expect that once you say "y" to install the GCO component during installation procedure, VCS would enable the setup of Wide Area Connector (WAC) resource.

you can execute '/opt/VRTSvcs/bin/gcoconfig' post installation to configure GCO between the VCS clusters
