hi,
if i have 5 node vcs and i power on only 4 out of them, then the vcs is not formed and thus the group services are not started.right?
could i say that the 4 nodes are hung?
if i like to start the group services i should give gabconfig -x supposing that the 5th node is failed.

No disrespect, but have you ever considered to attend VCS training course?
Or download VCS Admin Guide?
Cluster membership is covered in the VCS training course as well as VCS Admin Guide.
Look for this in the Contents section of vcs_admin.pdf :
Section 3 VCS communication and operations ......... 307
Chapter 9 About communications, membership, and data protection in the cluster .. 308
About cluster communications ....................................................... 308
About intra-system communications ......................................... 309
About inter-system cluster communications ................................ 309
About cluster membership ............................................................ 313
Initial joining of systems to cluster membership ........................... 313
Ongoing cluster membership ................................................... 316
