Hi,

I migrated Backup Exec DLO 2010 Media server to another Server with different name and also I transferred all backup data from old server to server,

After that, I ran below command to move all clients from old DLO media server to New DLO server on old server, its giving error message for users as

Failed to post media server notification change to UAI\jaime.lavin Error=0x35

Anyone help me on this issue.

thank you

Hi,

I checked with Symantec support, there is no issue, some of the user names are moved to New DLO Media server, the user name got failed, because user´s machine is unavailable, during that time, while running this command,

I moved most of the users to new DLO Media server and upgraded DLO 7.0 in new server, everything looking good, some of the user´s are still with old DLO media server, I will try to upgrade DLO 7.0 agent manually and update New DLO media server´name in registry,

Thank you...

Try using the netbios name & not fqdn for the media server.

For egs ~

DLOCommandu -ChangeServer -M cfranc8 -A

Hi,

I tried, giving same error.

C:\Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec\DLO>DLOCommandu -ChangeServer -M svwin011
-A
Notify following user(s) to use media server "svwin011"

RecordID    User
Failed to post media server notification change to UAI\manuel.godoy Error=0x35
Failed to post media server notification change to UAI\rodrigo.pelayo Error=0x35

4c2         UAI\sergio.riquelme
Failed to post media server notification change to UAI\claudio.huenul Error=0x35

4fe         UAI\george.gomez
Failed to post media server notification change to UAI\francisco.crisosto Error=

Note : but, if I run this command with svwin011.uai.cl or svwin011 in New Media server, its running fine, but if I run this command in old media server, Iam getting error.

Was the version of BE-DLO exactly the same when it was migrated to the new server ?

Are the clients at the same version or running a lower version ?

Hi,

Yes, Backup Exec 2010 R3 is same in old and new media server, yes all clients are same version,

I need to move all clients from old server to new server and then, I will migrate from backup exec 2010 DLO to Symantec DLO 7.0

Anyone help me to fix the move clients issue.

Thank you

Pls verify if you followed this KB exactly for the migration ~ http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH53407

If yes, pls open SGmon.exe from Program Files\Symantec\Backup Exec\

Choose Desktop /Laptop Option & Capture to File on the left side. Re run the change server command & pls post the debug output (if any). If no debug is captured, would recommend to log a support case.

- Using Windows Explorer, to the Network <User> Data folder for any single user.
- Below the Network <User> Data folder, browse to the .dlo\.notify directory
- Create a text file named newMediaServer<Client Machine Name> in the notify
directory, e.g. newMediaServerClient1
- Type the name of the new DLO media server on the first line of the file and
save the file
- Run the changeserver command again for this user.

Hi,

I already transferred data from old server to new server, So I need to create file in new storage location in new DLO media server ?

I need to run changeserver command in new or old server ?

I can do manually for all users ?, because, we have more then 500+ users

please clear my doubt.

Run it on the old server. We are testing to see if the change works for one user or not.

I have seen this error quite long time back...there was an issue with .notify... seems very similar in your case. Would recommend to log a formal support case.
