DLO 7.5 SP1 Issue on Windows 7 Machine

I have two computers with DLO installed and one works well ant the other does not.  On the computer that does not work, I receive the message below shortly after starting DLO:

Symantec DLO Desktop Agent has stopped working (a problem has caused the program to stop working correctly.  Please close the program.)

Here is the application event log entry:

Faulting application name: DLOClientu.exe, version: 3.1.390.6901, time stamp: 0x4edf7b59

Faulting module name: DLOClientu.exe, version: 3.1.390.6901, time stamp: 0x4edf7b59

Exception code: 0xc0000005

Fault offset: 0x006eeae7

Faulting process id: 0x2a44

Faulting application start time: 0x01cf26c20fed6c91

Faulting application path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Symantec\NetBackup DLO\DLO\DLOClientu.exe

Faulting module path: C:\Program Files (x86)\Symantec\NetBackup DLO\DLO\DLOClientu.exe

Report Id: c0919a59-92ba-11e3-9070-1c659d017716

Event ID:   1000

I saw article TECH202649 and tried the change but it did not work - it applied to an older version of DLO anyway.

I have reinstalled and deleted local content directories to no avail.

Any ideas?

Would you enable verbose debugging on the DLO client machine & post/pm the log.

Here is an article on how to enable debugging on the client machine - http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH160219

Can you try chaning the compatibility of the DLOClientU.exe and check it works.

Right Click the exe file and check the options for the compatability.

I tried the recommendation in TECH202649 and this did not help.  I tried compatibility mode with every operating system since window 2000 without any success.

Any other ideas?

You mention SDLO 7.5 SP1 in the post title, but the faulting application and binary path seems to indicate Netbackup DLO. Have you tried to completely uninstall the DLO agent and then reinstall it ?

...is there an AV installed on that PC in question? Can you check and see if it isn't perhaps blocking the service from running?

Thanks!

I am using Symantec Endpoint Protection on both machines (version 12.1.1101.401  RU1 MP1) --- and even tried disbling this software without any success.

It look like a problem i encountered sometimes on some PC

Try this...

Go to folder C:\Users\$username\AppData\Local\Symantec\DLO\

and delete or rename the folder ".settings".

I think it may be a corrupted prefences file.

I turned on Logging - and it seems to be working now.

I turned off logging and it is still working.

I'm not sure I understand, but it is working now!
