Hello

We did run in to some issues without any reason. We also run BE 2014 on same server.

- First we got this error:

"An error occured while running the report...... " please see pic1.jpg

pic1.jpg

 - Then we folowed the instructions and we repaired the instalation found regarding this error , and when oppened the console got this error:

"communications with DLo services are down..." please see pic2.jpg

pic2.jpg

- We have checked services and all are running, see pic3.jpg

pic3.jpg

- Checked logs and found this:

shadow\Server\consolesvc\consolesvc.cpp

0xCC000064: ADODBError-_com_error: foundationerror=cc000064, comerr=80004005, nativeerror=17, conn=Provider=SQLOLEDB;Data Source=\DLO\DLO;Initial Catalog=master;Integrated Security=SSPI;Connect Timeout=120, query=, msg=Unspecified error, src=Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server, desc=[DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (Connect()).]SQL Server does not exist or access denied.

- Reading about it, we have changed settings in UAC and put it off, also made sure all protocols and account rights are good.

- Now we can connect if we start SQL Management Studio and start the DLO console to, it works! But dosnt work if we don not start the SQL management studio.

We have check the registry and it looks weird, please see picture 4

Souldnt be server name or localhost?

- We have more logs:

The description for Event ID 50030 from source DLOAdminSvcu cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

The following information was included with the event:

826

shadow\Server\consolesvc\consolesvc.cpp

0xCC000064: ADODBError-_com_error: foundationerror=cc000064, comerr=80004005, nativeerror=17, conn=Provider=SQLOLEDB;Data Source=\DLO\DLO;Initial Catalog=master;Integrated Security=SSPI;Connect Timeout=120, query=, msg=Unspecified error, src=Microsoft OLE DB Provider for SQL Server, desc=[DBNETLIB][ConnectionOpen (Connect()).]SQL Server does not exist or access denied.

OpenSQLServerInstanceRegKey:GetRegKeyAccessMask failed (reason: 2).

- We have tried everything we could find on about those errors, please help?

The services screenshot show the list of Backup Exec services and not the DLO ones.

And yes, the server which hosts the DB name should be mentioned in the registry. (And not localhost). The registry path would be - HKLM\SOFTWARE\Symantec\Symantec DLO\Client

Hello, thanx for the reply.

Yes, that screenshot shows backup exec services, but the DLO ones are working.

Can we install version 8 and hope that will be repaired?

Installing version 8.0 may help or may not. A repair install would be preferable over a new install though.

We did try repair once. Will try again and see what happens.

No success with repairing, we get same error as in picture 2.

We cant understand why the path of the server is not shown. We have tried to add it in registry, still no succes.

As seen in the picture, all we get is a " instead of the server name.

Any more ideas?

@clothdiaperindi

Did you manage to get a solution? We still strugle with the problem.

@VJware

Any ideas, as it looks that isnt a single case?

Where have you found 8.1 release?

Currently, the lastest release of DLO seems to be the 8.0 SP4 released in august.
