Fellow Symantec enthusiasts,
We have DLO 7 configured at a customer with following parameters:
- User quota: 30 GB
- Data getting backed up:
First problem:
They have an amount of pooled laptops (multiple users) which brings following issue.
For example:
All data on the E:\ partition is getting backed up by every user that logs on to that machine with DLO agent. This generates a lot of traffic on the network / storage (less a problem because of netapp dedupe). Is there some kind of way to get around this (disabling accounts automatically...)?
Second problem:
If the c:\user documents folder has 20 GB of data and the E:\ drive has 20 GB of data, then the user is exceeding it's quota limit. How can we determine which user data is actually backed up. We would like to give the E:\ drive priority, so the user is sure every piece of data on this E:\ partition is backed up, is this possible?
Thanks in advance!

for the first problem, Can you please take a look at the below technote?

you need to look for the following keys in registry in case of Symantec DLO 7.0:
For Symantec DLO 7.0, the registry keys to be created are under:
for a 64 bit machine:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\Symantec\Symantec DLO\Client\
for a 32 bit machine:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Symantec\Symantec DLO\Client
