Downgrade DLO Console

smithj

Hi

We ran into some issues with Symantec DLO version 7.5 creating high I/Ops on our NetApp filer and therefore downgraded all our users DLO agents to DLO 7.0. I was wondering what is the best process to downgrade the DLO console from 7.5 to 7.0 to avoid any user impact?

Any assistance is greatly appreciated

Thanks

Jimmy

Yes, if the console is on 7.5, the DB is also at 7.5

Yes, you can directly upgrade from 7.0 to 7.6. afaik, there shouldn't be any issue as this upgrade path is supported.

Upgrading to 7.6 from 7.5 requires addiitonal steps. Have a look @ these KBs as well ~

Do you have a backup of the DB used by DLO 7.0 ?

If not, it would be more of a clean install honestly as the DB schema itself cannot be downgraded. Secondly, I don't think 7.0 can restore backups made by 7.5 due to the different encryption used.

Thanks VJware

All the users are using the 7.0 client agent, it is only the console that is on version 7.5. So no backups have been made by the 7.5 client agent.

If the console is run on 7.5, I presume this means that the DB is ran on 7.5?

If we went to DLO 7.6, could you see any issues upgrading the console and clients? Can you do a straight upgrade of the clients from 7.0 to 7.6?

Thanks
