The impact of changing a user profile!

Dear Experts

I need to know what if i need to change user profile, by other word what if we need to migrate users profile to a new one or an existing one.

Actually when i try to do that i get the below message.

Is this meaning that the user data cannot migrate to the new profile?

I recently ask the same the question to Tech.

They say there is no effect. You can modify the profile. However, dont know exactly what happened to migrate to new profile.

Try Make New Profile and apply to one User before actual implementation.
