...quite a couple of certs you put down there
what files are you talking about backing up and restoring? Do you want to restore only user files? Or do you want to restore entire VMs (in which case your design of the VDI solution would need to be confirmed here)?
If only user files, then Symantec DLO would be the way to go. It's probably going to work out a lot cheaper than using Backup Exec for instance.
Thanks!

Hi CrigV ,
Thanks for your feedback..I will give a solution to customer using VMware VDI .I want to take backup the whole vm/client data then i need to restore individual files from that backup .
So is DLO will work in VMware VDI envirnments (VMware Horizon View) ,Because i dont get any doc on this .

DLO can be used in virtual environments, however it will backup only the user data and not system data or the complete VM itself.
However, Backup Exec can backup the complete VMs and allows one to restore individual files/folders (Granular Recovery Technology) and also can restore the complete VMs.

Hi,
It depends on how you do your VMs. If they're thick VMs (as in you have 100 fully installed and ready VMs dedicated for your users) then BE can back them up. If they're thin, and you boot off a golden image, then BE can't do those backups. They essentially get deleted once shut down, and the user gets a new VM when they try logging on again.
So how is View installed?
Thanks!
