cannot cancel SSR2013r2 backup in progress

Windows 10 system

I am unable to cancel a backup

It continues to run while saying cancelling on the progress sceen

Stop all the services and this should stop the backup.

Do this in Task Manager.

I tried stopping the service but it failed

In fact  the Service is now hung up

[noexcuses245]

I disabled the service then rebooted

I then enabled the service and then rebooted

It now appears  to be working
