Corps vs. Corps of Engineers

Using Discover Accelerator (8), I just ran a pair of searches - one looking for occurrences of the word Corps and the other for "Corps of Engineers" (in quotes).

The "corps" query returned 3 hits while "Corps of Engineers" returned 3080.  As I would have expected, the "corps" hits were due to isolated instances of this word (as opposed to substrings), while the "Corps of Engineers" hits all referred to hits on the complete string.  This seems counterintuitive to me, unless there is some quirk in DA that I'm overlooking.

Any ideas why things might be working this way?

We're an EV SP3 site.

Thanks!

Keith

Hey Keith,

Could you use the steps in this technote and capture the search criteria?

http://www.symantec.com/docs/HOWTO17493

Then attach the two criterias and we can take a look.

Thanks,

Tony,

Have you ever had one of those days where you wonder how you even managed to find your way into the office?

The problem was that I put "Corps" in the to/from field and not the subject/contents field like I thought I had.

Sounds like a good time to pack my bag and start the weekend - thanks for the quick response!
