Searching with Discovery Accelerator

Hi

I have a client with EV9 exchange archiving and they have been using the 'medium' indexing since it's installation a year or so ago. They now have a need to undertake a thorough search of all their archives for particular information and have bought and installed DA to achieve this.

My question is that as 'medium' indexing will not allow them to search the entire email information or attachments is there anything in DA that can be leveraged to achieve this? Or will thay have no choice but to set their indexing to 'full' and then re-index their entire archives before running the DA searches?

actually medium will allow you to search the content.  You just can't do phrase searching.  If they can live without phrase searching, then no, you don't have to rebuild but they might find it a very nice to have.

What you could do is go ahead and upgrade to EV 10 and then start updating the old indexes to 64 bit.  This will put them a the Full level as there is no Medium level in EV 10.

Both the Medium and Full Indexing Levels index the contents of archived items, in addition to their attributes. The difference between the two is that with Full, extra information is stored in the index regarding word adjacency allowing for phrase searches.
