This simple script I wrote creates a file system with many small files, for use to illustrate the benefits of NetBackup's FlashBackup functionality, which does a raw disk backup of the file system (very fast), but also gets the file system's metadata providing individual file restore (which raw disk backups can't normally do).
With a 2 GB NTFS file system, using a small seed file of approximately 1-4kb in size, and running with 10,000 files per folder (default), the script will create approximately 150 folders (1.5 million files) before the file system fills.
I'd like to know what is the "average" spped of Flashbackup should be if there is a 1Gb network interface.
