Talking of TapeAlerts, I'd like to share with you a little script that we use to extract TapeAlert messages from Solaris system log.

It's quite small, but allows to see error trends i.e. faulty drive or faulty tape.

You do realise that the TapeAlert information is also recorded in the /usr/openv/netbackup/db/media/errors (<install dir>\netbackup\db\media\errors for windows users)..

And it's in a much more usable format..

Just to state the obvious, The "errors" log file is per media server. So you have to check each media server..
