Talking of TapeAlerts, I'd like to share with you a little script that we use to extract TapeAlert messages from Solaris system log.
It's quite small, but allows to see error trends i.e. faulty drive or faulty tape.
This script was for calculating the amount of data backed up for policies.
Replaced to work with clients, and work out how much per client backed up over a period.
