Hi, I would like to take some Exams, when I try to register to sit the Exam with Prometric here in the UK I see a message about having to provied a Partner Email address otherwise I may lose my qualification should I pass.
Im an individual, looking to pass some exams on products I have used in an effort to update my CV. Am I allowed to sit these exams, this on is ST0-47X : Symantec NetBackup 6.5 (STS)
Do I have to be a partner or completed official training? I use the product at work and just want to prove my knowledge with an exam to be honest. Can any one direct me please? Thanks

Hi there!
If you're just looking to take a Certification (as opposed to the Accreditations Partners need to take), then you need to make sure you chose the SCS exam at Prometric & not the STS.
The Certification page on our website: http://www.symantec.com/business/training/certification/index.jsp should also provide you with a little more information, but let me know if you have any more questions!
Kind regards,
Kim

Just to make clear. Symantec Technical Specialist exam is only for Symantec Partners who want to upgrade their status with the particular product specialization.
As for individual IT-professionals, as you are - you should take the SCS exam.
As for preparation to pass the SCS exam - it is better to take official trainig course. You also need to be very familiar with the product documentation. E.g. for NetBackup: Administrator's Guide, Backup Planning and Performance Tuning Guide, Commands for Windows(download them from the EntSupport site).
