Expected unmatched four digit version and product version for Enterprise Vault suite products in Add remove programs

It is observed for Symantec Enterprise Vault products installed Service Pack 1 and onwards, which have their own msi installers(example FSA installer), there is a mismatch in the Product version displayed in the comments or product name to the Product version displayed when the application entry is selected or in the version column in Programs and Features.

This is expected behavior, this product version is used internally by the msi and this number is increment by a factor for every service pack.

For display purpose the four field version is used (Major.Minor.SP.BuildNum) and Msi version will be Major.Minor.(SP*4096+BuildNumber).The reason for using a three field version is because Windows Installer uses only the first three fields of the product version. If we include a fourth field in the product version, the installer ignores the fourth field.

This is expected behavior and how msi version is incremented in service packs builds to prevent having any issues with Msi upgrades.

In the attached screenshot it can be seen the FSA product version seen is different to what we see in the Comments section and in the application name.
