We have narrowed it down to certain people that have virtual vault enabled.  When the sync request comes in it does not sync properly and logs this message every 5 minutes until Outlook is closed.  We have made sure the VV directory on the clients is excluded from AV scanning.  We have ran the EV VV reset for the client but to no avail.  If you look in the VV sync status it shows failed.

We have been battling this problem for a while so any help would be appreciated.  Thanks.

We would find the problematic archive by DTracing EVMonitoring.  We found that when the errors were generating it would clear the entry out of the AdminJobEntry table, so we couldn't find the archive in there.  So here are the latest steps that we are going to try out the next time it happens.  i'll post back if they are successful.

- Reset the VC on this user's computer using the 'Enterprise Vault Diagnostics' dialog box and close Outlook.

- Manually delete the VC regkey and the VC directory.

- Disable VC in the Desktop policy but only synch to this one user.

- Open Outlook on the client.  The VC button should not appear.

- Enable VC in the Desktop policy and synch back to this user.

- Restart Outlook on the client.  Should get a 'Welcome to VC' dialog box again.  Go ahead and start a VC synch.

On my server (also EV 9 with SP2), I am seeing 6592 events identical to the one in the first post. They do not occur every 5 minutes in my case, but they appear every 5-10 minutes for several periods of times each day. Dtrace seems to show a corrupted EntryID:

1964420 10:11:46.348 [8044] (MigratorServer) <9612> EV:M {CStoreAccessor::SelectStore}|EntryId:|ě|嬆̗|￲ࠈ孜莴
1964421 10:11:46.348 [9184] (MigratorServer) <10216> EV:L {CCB: CalculateDate} (Exit)
1964422 10:11:46.348 [4968] (MigratorServer) <10140> EV:H {CIndirectProcessSetMember::Running}|State: 2|Result: True
1964423 10:11:46.348 [6740] (MigratorServer) <7832> EV:M transactionId = A0EA029AA20F4F03E0EA6C3CD65C5DB1
1964424 10:11:46.348 [8044] (MigratorServer) <9612> EV:H {CStoreAccessor::SelectStore} (Exit) Status: [The parameter is incorrect.  (0x80070057)]

I do not know how to identify the problematic archive(s) and would appreciate any troubleshooting ideas you can offer.

Thanks

The AdminJobEntry table in the Directory database lists all active VC jobs which should give you an indictation of which job it is that it generating the errors. Try clearing the entries and then reset the VC on the affected user to clear the errors.

I would also suggest deleting any temp PST files associated with that vault id in the VCBuilds folder under the servers cache location.
