I'm aware of CommonDesk's ArcViewer and the below two posts but the increasing prevalence of these devices in the marketplace is causing problems for a number of my customers. Mobile Search doesn't adequately addres their needs, meaning more and more of them are displeased that their only true option for iDevice (and Android) access is via a third-party app with additional associated costs.
To be frank, I had at one point been told that iPhones/iPhads were not supported by Mobile Search (only Blackberry and Windows Mobile devices). On reading this forum, I'm starting to wonder whether I was initially mistaken (or whether I'm operating based on outdated information). Perhaps some general clarification can be provided here? I recognize that every model of every device cannot be addressed, but an official "yes" or "no" regarding each general family would help.
That said, since the most recent updates to the threads below were nearly four months ago, I was hoping that some additional information might be available in terms of timelines - EV 10 SP...X? EV 11? EV 12?

It's highly doubtful they will produce anything for the iOS devices, especially since CommonDesk's solution is already so polished, it wouldn't really make much fiscal sense to try and produce something where functionality already exists elsewhere

It is stated in one of the links included in my initial post that iOS support is in fact roadmapped, so I don't think it's fair to call it "highly doubtful."
The "fiscal sense" in improving the existing Mobile Search utility is that enough customers start to look at mobile devices as critical to operating their businesses and don't want to add the extra spend on the CommonDesk solution when EV isn't cheap to begin with. That becomes a "con" when weighing EV versus other archiving platforms (needless to say, I think there are an overwhelming number of "pros," or I wouldn't do this for a living, but it's Symantec's job to keep that balance in EV's favor).
Nothing against CommonDesk, but these sorts of third-party solutions are viable while the need they're filling isn't mainstream. Once they are - and I think we can agree that iOS devices are mainstream in the consumer space and very close to mainstream in the corporate space (RIM is dying if not dead) - I believe it's the responsibility of the vendor to respond to customer demands (and as I said, my customers have spoken very clearly on this).

we are investigating moving away from EV to mimecast Archiving because of the lack of integration with idevices and mac os x integration (which is still painfull) also the fact accessing archived emails via OWA only really works well using windows IE and not any of the other browsers on other platforms.
but i agree that the majority of EV customers are probalby large organisation with no interest in accessing archived emails using idevices (they probably don't support them) but for those that do they will look at alternatives.
